Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays / Meri Kirihimete from Eyes on Petone

Sharing the news from our Christmas 2022 e-mail newsletter to our customers.

We’d like to thank all of our customers for your support over the last 7 months we’ve been operating as Eyes on Petone. It’s been a busy time in getting new logos and branding, switching to an improved online booking system, introducing new ranges of frames and lenses, experimenting with social media ideas, and welcoming Catherine as our new optometrist.

Celebrate, share and win some sunnies

To celebrate 7 months in business - and the sunny weather we’ve been having - we’re running a contest for our customers.

Please visit Eyes on Petone’s Facebook or Instagram pages - if you like, share and tag a friend over December and January, you’ll go in the draw for a free pair of Nike sunglasses.

Eyes on Petone - our community

One of our goals in opening Eyes on Petone was to connect with the local community, from our Jackson Street neighbours, Petone residents, and people in the wider Hutt Valley.

We have customers not only from Petone, but the Western Hills, over in Wainuiomata, around the bays in Eastbourne, and as far north as Stokes Valley (plus a few people who live in other towns but still come back to us for their eye tests when visiting the Hutt).

Eyes on Petone is a proud member of I Love Petone - The Jackson Street Programme”, and has reached out to connect with local retailers, schools, and medical centres. We’ve provided prizes to Te Omanga Hospice’s fundraiser, promoted local scout groups (St Augustine’s and St James Sea Scouts) with a window display on National Scarf Day, turned our window purple in October as part of the WOW “shop and win” promotion, and offered discounts as part of the Jackson Street Advent Calendar

We’ve also featured photos from some interesting Petone landmarks on social media. We’re based in a great location so like to show it off.

A bigger range of frames

We’ve expanded our frame selection over 2022. In addition to the old favourites of Nike, CAT, Kate Sylvester, Stepper, Dutz, and Vanni frames, we’ve added new brands like Fila, Boheme, William Morris and Woody’s.
