Eyes on Queen’s Birthday

Queen’s Birthday weekend is coming up, which usually means people have lots to do.

If you’re travelling out of town, you may want to stop by Eyes on Petone first to top up your contact lens solution supplies or pick up a new pair of sunglasses for the road.

Sunglasses will also be useful if the weather behaves and you plan to be outside in the sun, gardening or just enjoying the Hutt on a good day.

Maybe you’ve got a list of jobs to do around the house. Don’t forget to look after your eyes, e.g. wear safety glasses when using power tools, or swap out your contacts for glasses when doing something dusty. If you’re painting, we recommend putting some clingfilm over your glasses to stop paint splatter getting on your lenses.

And, if you want to celebrate Queen’s Birthday with some British food or royal memorabilia, we’re right next door to UK Goodies. Laura recommends Jaffa Cakes as her favourite go-to British treat.

We’ve got lots of things to do too, so Eyes on Petone will close over the long weekend. We’re open until 5pm Friday, closed Saturday-Monday but will be back to see everyone at 9am on Tuesday.
